Ayurveda is the oldest healthcare system in the world. It is a 5000-year-old Hindu wholistic wellness practice that focuses on individual constitutions which are Vata, Pitta, Kapha and Tridosha. Tridosha means this remedy works well for all.
This wise system tells us:
“The body of one who uses oil massage regularly does not become affected much even if subjected to accidental injuries, or strenuous work. By using oil massage daily, a person is endowed with pleasant touch, trimmed body parts and becomes strong, charming and least affected by old age.” -Charaka Samhita Vol. 1, V: 88-89
Massage is thought to be a luxury. In truth, it’s a preventative wellness practice that can keep you happy and healthy.

The Daily Body Love Ritual Suggested Oils Herbs and Practice
CBD oil is a tridosha oil. Personalize your experience by adding fresh herbs or blend in a complimentary essential oil to enhance the wonderful effects of the Abhyanga massage. For example, blending hemp oil with the essential oil of ylang-ylang dismisses depression, boosts feelings of happiness, lowers blood pressure, and increases libido. And blending vetiver essential oil will invoke a meditative and grounded feeling.
The Tools
1-hour block of time
Large plush bath towel
Capped bottle of CBD oil (plain or infused)
Carafe of hot water
Large eye dropper (4”)
Abhyanga steps
Make sure your space is nice and warm as you will be in the buff. Choose the correct oil and herb for your current dosha, or whichever your soul-self guides you to. To warm the oil, place a capped oil filled bottle into a carafe of hot water and let sit for ten minutes. Test the warmth of the oil by applying a small amount of oil to the inside of your wrist.
Tip: Instead of pouring the oil into your hand, use a four-inch eye dropper to keep control of the oil.
Start by applying oil to your crown, massage gently. Move in circular motions over your entire scalp and massage vigorously with the pads of your fingers.
Face: massage gently in circular motions always in an upward direction. Include your ears and earlobe.
Move to your hands and arms (front and back and under your arm toward the center of your body), using long strokes toward the heart right up to your neck (front and back).
*When massaging the joints of your arms, legs, hands, and feet, spend a few moments and use circular motions.
When massaging the abdomen, follow the direction of the large intestine. Moving up on the right side, over and down on the left side. Also massage under your ribcage to work on your liver, pancreas, and spleen.
Gentle circular motions over your breast and chest.
Move around to your back starting at the base of the spine and moving up in a circular motion. Hint: you may want to get your sweetie to help with this.
Legs and thighs: Long vigorous strokes on your legs and thighs. Use circular motions around your knees.
Sit and spend a few moments massaging your feet and toes as your entire body map is located on the bottom of your feet.
Once you’re all oiled up, relax for twenty minutes. This is a great time to meditate and set your intention for the day.
Lastly, take a warm shower or warm soaking bath. Avoid using any soap on your skin. Use sparingly on the “essential” spots.
Once you are out of the water, gently blot your body dry. Dress and go into your day feeling nourished and loved from the inside out.
Remember, this is all about you and your well-being. Committing to this hour of self-love each day is the foundation for creating optimal health and wellness. Lastly, performing Abhyanga daily enriches not only your quality of life but the lives of the people that you live and work with.
